APPLICABILITY OF FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE LAW TO OFFICERS

QUESTION:

Are the members of the Green Cove Springs Housing Authority public officers within the meaning of part III, Ch. 112, F. S. (1974 Supp.), and thus required to comply with the Financial Disclosure Law as it applies to public officers?

Your question is answered in the affirmative.

We have concluded in a previous opinion that housing authorities established pursuant to Ch. 421, F. S., are not exclusively advisory bodies, and therefore members of such boards are not excluded from the category of persons deemed to be public officers. See CEO 74-41. We find that opinion equally applicable to the question you have raised.
